Season 2 Release Date & Steam

Steam Release

Unfortunately, we have hit a little snag with Steam. We’re essentially on the last stretch of the application process, but we just received news that we won’t be able to finalize the application to fully release the game until it passes their anti-virus checks. A few core game files are being flagged by their anti-virus as potential viruses. This is, of course, a false positive report. However, since Steam is a large platform, they insist these issues be resolved before releasing the game.

We have a couple of options to resolve these issues, but the easiest and quickest solution is to contact the anti-virus company and request that they review the files for whitelisting (which means they wouldn’t set off alarms anymore). Unfortunately, we are still waiting to hear back from them to see if this is possible, or if we will have to take a longer, more time-consuming route to fix the issues.

This all means that we either have to delay Season 2 or possibly not release on Steam at the same time. Given that many players have been voicing their excitement and readiness for Season 2, we have decided to release Season 2 with the possibility of not releasing on Steam at the same time. I would like to point out that this doesn’t mean it won’t happen, just that it’s a possibility. Everything might work out, and we might be able to release on Steam as expected. Another option is that we might release on Steam sometime during Season 2. Given that this is the last step in the Steam release process, we’ll be sure to let everyone know when we have an update.

Season 2

We’re happy to announce that Season 2 will begin on Friday, August 2, 2024. We will be starting the season at 9 AM ET. We will be providing everyone with complete patch notes the day before, on Thursday, August 1, 2024. However, once we hear back from Steam, we'll post a preview of some of the Season 2 changes. We’ll continue to develop additional content and features until shortly before that point, so ongoing and new discussions/suggestions can still be implemented beforehand, as well as during Season 2.
