Server Maintenance & Season 5 Test Server
On June 26th at 7:30 AM ET, the servers will be offline for approximately 3-5 hours for maintenance and the launch of the Season 5 Test Server. The test server will allow players to preview upcoming Season 5 changes and provide feedback before release.
On June 26th at 7:30 AM ET, we will be shutting down the servers for scheduled maintenance and launching the Season 5 Test Server. During this maintenance, we will also be working with our hosting provider to resolve the hardware issue that caused the Mystic Server and Launcher Servers to randomly crash twice over the past two weeks.
Unfortunately, we do not have an exact estimate for the downtime, but we expect the servers to be offline for approximately 3-5 hours.
Status Update: All servers are now online.
Please review the following details:
- The primary purpose of the test server is to test the Season 5 balance changes and stat squish. Players are encouraged to test these changes and provide feedback through Discord or Support Tickets. Discord is preferred so the community can discuss feedback and suggestions together.
- While the focus of the test server is the balance changes, all other announced Season 5 changes will also be available for testing. Please note that only announced changes will be included, but more changes might be added during updates (they will be announced).
- The test server will use a copy of the Mystic Server database taken at the time maintenance begins, allowing you to test using your current characters and equipment. If you'd like to test higher-level equipment, special NPCs will also be available to help you craft it.
- The test server will remain online and continue receiving updates based on player feedback leading up to the launch of Season 5.
- Once the live servers are back online, an in-game poll will be added so players can vote on the official Season 5 start date.
Additional Season 5 Updates
Please note that these are only some of the changes that have been implemented. These updates will only be available on the test server until Season 5 begins, and additional changes will continue to be added between now and release. As with previous seasons, some updates will not be announced until closer to launch or even the day before Season 5 begins.
General Changes
- We've made several changes that should help reduce Windows Defender and antivirus false positives over time.
- Players will now receive email notifications whenever their account receives or has a punishment manually removed (mutes, chat report blocks, and bans).
- These emails will include the reason(s) for the action as well as its duration.
Eonic Games Launcher
- The Alternative Login quick-select menu now includes a New One-Time Login button, allowing you to quickly sign into an account that is not already saved.
- This feature also supports external account logins, including Steam and Google.
- The new launcher will not be available right away with the test server, but we plan to role it out about two weeks prior to Season 5.
Event System Changes
- Season characters are now notified when logging into a non-season channel that they will only receive non-season event notifications and participation options.
- Season characters will now receive a notification when registering for or selecting participation in a non-season event instead of its season counterpart.
- Honor Badges are now awarded using the same system as the Coliseum Event. If you are offline when the event ends, your rewards will be mailed to you, even if you do not log in before the next event begins.
- The Coliseum registration and participation process has been simplified. Players may now register for an event on any character, which registers the account. Once participation is confirmed shortly before the event begins, that specific character is locked into the event.
- Players can change their participation selection through the new Events Interface before the event starts.
- Nation War and Hau Events continue to support late participation selection if you log in while the event is already in progress.
- The following events have now been migrated to the new event system originally developed for the Coliseum, with settings customized for each event:
- Weekend Buff Events
- Soccer Event
- Soccer matches now automatically advance to the next bracket after 30 seconds instead of waiting for the remaining timer to expire.
- Duct Event
- Catastropha Cavern Event
- Non-Season Egg Shells and Season Egg Shells now track separate shell counters.
- Season characters can now only use Season Egg Shells while on season channels.
- Civil War Event
- The Civil War Event now announces its start once per minute during the final three minutes before the event begins, replacing the previous message every second for the final 10 seconds.
- Turf Stop Event
- Pet Boss Event
- Reaper Event
- The Reaper Event is now only delayed by the Nation War that matches its own channel range. Previously, the Season Reaper Event could also be delayed by a non-season Nation War.
- Hau Event
- Nation War Event
- The Nation War Event now announces its start once per minute during the final three minutes before the event begins, replacing the previous message every second for the final 10 seconds.
- Coliseum Event
Balance Changes
- Marked for Death: This effect, from bows, will now only apply to the archer who cast it. Other archers will no longer benefit from another player's Marked for Death. Multiple Marked for Death debuffs can now be active at the same time if applied by different players.
- Red Touch: This effect will now only apply to the player who triggered it. Other players will no longer benefit from another player's Red Touch debuff. Multiple Red Touch debuffs can now be active at the same time if applied by different players.
- Pyrium Staff: This staff effect is being changed completely. The staff will now activate Pyrium's Reckoning through Flame Edge and Burst Edge. This new debuff stores a percentage of the damage dealt to the target as a short, stackable debuff. Each stack lasts 5 seconds, up to a maximum of 10 stacks, and stores 5% of the damage dealt by that attack. Red Mages can detonate Pyrium's Reckoning by using Fire Fury while the debuffs are active, causing all current stacks to explode and deal the total stored damage as absolute damage.
- All classes have received roughly a 20% reduction across several stat sources, including: Stat Points, Item Values, and Item Stats.
- Advanced Skills that deal absolute damage have had their damage reduced by 20%.
