Season 4 Complete Patch Notes

Tomorrow, October 31st at 9 AM ET, the servers will go offline to begin the Season 4 patch process. This maintenance is expected to take 1-2 hours. We will make an additional news article prior to the servers going online with details on this seasons contests. Once the servers are back online, Season 4 will officially be live with new content, fresh challenges, and exciting updates!

In addition to what we've already shared, we've prepared the following exciting changes:

Warning: Please note that, as with all updates, balance changes may occur at anytime based on player feedback and balance considerations.

General Changes

• We've fixed an issue that prevented Critical Hit sound effects from being played.
• We've added a Critical Hit sound for archer damage.
• We've fixed an issue where large monitors and/or higher resolutions caused far away targets to be difficult to target.
• The localization of various Eonic Weapons & the Eonic Weapon Crafter have been improved.
• The Eonic Weapon Crafter now states the upgrade rate for each grade.
• Sephiroth Jewelry can now be used starting at level 276 (previously 300).
• In-game & website help guides have been updated to reflect season changes.

Client Changes

• We've made various experimental changes to the client that may help reduce crashes and the games memory usage over time (and thus reduce FPS drops after prolonged gameplay).
• If users notice an increase/decrease in crashes or FPS drops, please let us know. In the case of FPS drops, a video may be helpful.

Halloween Event

• We have added a new pair of wings, the Halloween Wings. The Halloween Wings may only be purchased during the Halloween Event.

Pets & Wings

• We have added a new purchasable pet, the Demon Fox.
• We have added a new pet, the Lumivane. The Lumivane will only be awarded to Season 4 event winners.
• We have added a new purchsable pair of wings, the Raven Wings.
• We have added a new pair of wings, the Wings of Decay. The Wings of Decay will only be awarded to Season 4 event winners.

Delphiroth Changes

• Delphiroth Jewelry no longer drops in Delphiroth Floor 6.
• Delphiroth Floor 6 Sephiroth Jewelry drop rates have been doubled.
• Delphiroth Floor 5 now drops Sephiroth Jewelry at the rate that floor 6 used to drop them.
• Based on early player feedback, you can now start any later part of "Descent of the Divine" quest line without completing the earlier quests.

Imperial Jewelry

• A new Level 13 jewelry set, Imperial Jewelry, has been added to the game.
• Players can equip Imperial Jewelry starting at Level 300, and the set can be obtained from Delphiroth Floor 6 and Catastropha Cavern.
• Upgrade rates are slightly higher compared to the Sephiroth Jewelry set.
• Imperial Jewelry can be augmented with Sacred Runes.
• These items can only be crafted by season characters, until the season is over.

Void Weapons

• We've added a new series of Level 14.5 weapons, called Void Weapons. These weapons were inspired by the concept behind Eonic Weapons and other situationally focused weapons in the game.
• Grade 3 Void weapons are slightly weaker than Level 14 weapons against the wrong type of enemy, but against the "right" kind they are stronger. Void Weapons can be more effective when used under the right conditions, see the weapon descriptions for more info.
• Players can craft Void Weapons by speaking to the Void Weapon Crafter at Nasa Altar, who will also inform you of the grade upgrade success rates.
• Similar to level 14 equipment, Void Weapons can only have "perfect" stats and those stats can be upgraded to level 20 (glows start at level 13).
• Void Weapon stats can be upgraded using Beryllium Gems.
• Grade Upgrade Rates & Costs
  • Grade 1 (50% Success): 1 Level 14 weapon of the same type, 1 Magic Gem, 1 Sorcery Gem, 1 Divine Gem, 1 Sephiroth Gem, 1 Sephiroth Choice Gem, 1 Beryllium Gem, 1 Beryllium Choice Gem, 1 Borna Gem, 1 Janra Gem, 1 Jous Gem, and 1 Shua Gem.
  • Grade 2 (20% Success): 1 Grade 1 version of the same weapon and the same gem set as above.
  • Grade 3 (10% Success): 1 Grade 2 version of the same weapon and the same gem set as above.
• Additionally, Void Weapons are able to be augmented with runes.
• These items can only be crafted by season characters, until the season is over.
