The Violet Mist

Two decades had passed since the War of Old had come to a close. Peace and prosperity were being enjoyed by both the Veros & Ladianes nations.  A new generation of Humans & Nephilim were living in a world where they did not need to fear the greed of others, a world shared among both nations; a hopeful world. Or so they thought…

There were still Nephilim and Humans who sought to overthrow their lords, and seek revenge on their enemies for causing them pain and anguish. These renegade factions of the Nephilim & Human races were not seen as a threat, simply because they lacked the numbers and power to accomplish such a task. One of the Nephilim factions was known as Agar. The Agar believed that the Lords of Veros had failed by allowing their enemies to live among their lands. They sought to rid Fomalhaut of the Veros monarchy, Humans, and anyone else who swore allegiance to the humans.

The leader of the Agar; Durion, had spent the last 2 decades serving the Lords of Veros whilst secretly studying all the different forms of forbidden magic he could find within Veros Castle. One day, Durion uncovered an ancient scroll containing forbidden black magic spells. These spells had long been forgotten by any mage in Fomalhaut, and with good reason. Durion stumbled upon one spell in particular that was used to create a power amplification potion; it was called the Sangwa Vala.

Drunk with the thought of power, Durion decided to use the Sangwa Vala on himself. He collected the required reagents, mixed them together, and used the Sangwa Vala spell to enchant his potion. There was only one thing left for him to do, drink the potion. As he drank the potion and the last drop escaped the vial, something unexpected happened. Durion began to scream out in pain, so much so that his screams echoed throughout the entire castle.

Worried and unknowing of Durion's treachery; the Queen of Veros, Elana, ran to his aid. When she entered the room, Durion's screams went silent. Elana watched as Durion began to disappear and in his place appeared a dark and violet colored mist. As the mist began to grow and move, Elana noticed the plants it touched began to transform into monstrous plant like creatures. She fled, fearing the same would happen to her.

The violet mist spread throughout all of Fomalhaut within hours. Any living creature that came into contact with the mist would die or transform into monsters. Although most were lost to the mist, some of the Humans & Nephilim managed to escape Fomalhaut. These Humans & Nephilim voyaged to the Isle of Fuan. It was a desolate land that was unable to properly sustain any form of life. However, through their own hard work, magic, and support they managed to survive for hundreds of years. Every generation of Human & Nephilim was told the story and dreamt of Fomalhaut, their once great land.
